Odd things that caught my eye…

I read the news–via the internet–every morning.  Politics, entertainment, finances/economy, and gossip blogs.  This morning as I perused several news stories, several things that were completely irrevelant to my life caught my eye.  I decided to share them…

TOKYO – A Japanese man set fire to the hotel where he was due to get married at the weekend, rather than go through with the ceremony later the same day, newspaper reports said Monday.

Tatsuhiko Kawata, 39, had gone along with wedding plans despite already having a wife, the Yomiuri newspaper said.

“I thought if I set a fire I wouldn’t have to go through with the wedding,” the Yomiuri quoted him as telling police.

(Okay, was it REALLY that hard to say I “can’t, won’t, don’t want to” marry you?  LOL.  I’m sorry but this man, especially at damn near 40, is a fool.)

Restaurant closed after dead deer found in kitchen -AP

HAMBURG, N.Y. – Health officials shut down a suburban Buffalo restaurant after an inspector found employees butchering a dead deer inside the business. Erie County Health Department officials said they got a tip Friday about a dead deer in the China King restaurant in the town of Hamburg, just south of Buffalo.

(Here in the south–and I’m sure other places were hunting is prevalent–deer meat is cooked on the regular.  I don’t generally like wild meat but…deer sausage is the bomb.  Now, that doesn’t mean I am running after Garfield or Odie or any of his feline/canine friends with a fork and knife. And yes, I get it they were were wrong for having Bambi in the restaurant…)

Man drives drunk to protest drunk driving charge -Reuters

VIENNA (Reuters) – An Austrian man, charged with drink driving, drove to a police station to complain about the charge whilst drunk, officials said on Monday.

Is Sarah Palin preparing for 2012? -Politico

Sarah Palin may soon be free. Soon, she may not have the millstone of John McCain around her neck. And she can begin her race for president in 2012.

(WTF? I can not wait for November the 5th–you feel me? Please send this woman and all of her BS back to Alaska. Pleeeeeeaaaaaasssssseeee….)

81-year old finds love online -Reuters

BEIJING (Reuters) – An 81-year-old Chinese man has proved age need not be a barrier to Internet love, marrying a 58-year-old bride he met online, a local newspaper reported.

(Proof positive that Viagra, Cialis and the like are evil…)

Men nabbed after playing ‘chicken’ with police car-AP

BETHANY, Okla. – Three Oklahoma City men were arrested after playing “chicken” with a police car. Police said a 23-year-old man drove his car at the oncoming patrol car driven by Capt. J.D. Reid and didn’t move until Reid swerved out of the way. Reid then chased the car until it crashed. The driver was found inside the car, another 22-year-old man was found lying outside the vehicle and a third man was found hiding behind a traffic sign

(What’s really ironic to me is the fact that I think the dumbest one of the whole scenario is the jackass thinking a traffic sign could hide him…)
